Kanye West to appear on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

Chicago Tribune entertainment reporter Luis Gomez talks about Kanye West's Twitter rant against Jimmy Kimmel after Kimmel made fun of his BBC Radio interview. (Posted: Sept. 27, 2013)

This just sounds uncomfortable.

Jimmy Kimmel revealed on Twitter Tuesday that rapper Kanye West -- who slammed Kimmel on Twitter last month for spoofing his interview with BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe -- will be a guest Wednesday on ABC's “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

“TOMORROW NIGHT, MY GUEST WILL BE @kanyewest (for real, yes and was it all a setup, no),” Kimmel tweeted.

Kimmel, you might remember, joked “(West) said he’s the No. 1 rock star on the planet – whatever planet he’s on” and had two children re-enact the interview. West, in return, tweeted “Your face looks crazy” and referenced Kimmel’s ex-girlfriend when he wrote “Sarah Silverman is a thousand times funnier than you.”

There’s no guarantee the two will bury the hatchet like Oprah Winfrey did with David Letterman when she appeared on “Late Show" in 2005.

West wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t seem like the type to smile for the cameras just to please others. As for Kimmel, he likely will try to defuse the situation, but he isn’t one to suck up to celebrities like some other talk show hosts.

It's also possible Kimmel will announce the whole thing was a hoax, just like when he had the star of the viral "Twerk Fail" video on his show last month to reveal the video was fake and Kimmel was behind it.

Anything seems possible at this point -- especially when Kimmel and West are involved.
