The Ocean View Little League All-Star (12-year-olds) team secured a spot in the District 62 division's championship finals by winning its first three games of the double-elimination tournament.

Ocean View went to 3-0 Monday by handing Seaview its first tourney loss, 3-0, at Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley.

Ocean View started off the game with four consecutive hits by Rocco Peppi, Jared Manzo, Jake Vogel and Sinjin Choi. After first inning, OV was up 4-0. In the third inning, Noah Karliner hit a two-run home run to make it 6-0.

Ocean View scored its final run in the fifth.

The story of the game was Jared Manzo on the mound. Manzo pitched a complete game and was one out away from a perfect game. He faced 19 batters, allowed just one hit without a walk, and struck out 10. Seaview got its lone hit in the sixth inning.

Manzo was backed by a strong defense. In the fifth, Riley Shannon made a diving catch in right field to keep the no-hitter going.

Ocean View, which scored previous tournament wins against Costa Mesa National (24-1) and Huntington Valley (5-0), was one victory away from clinching the district championship. Ocean View faced once-beaten Huntington Valley in the first of a possible two games of the division finals Wednesday. The score wasn't available at press time.
