The first of two Marina Baseball Summer Camps, designed for local youth, starts Thursday at the school.

The camp runs from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and/or noon to 2 p.m. through July 2, at the Marina High baseball fields (15871 Springdale St., Huntington Beach). The second camp starts July 7 and runs through July 18, also with daily times of 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., and noon to 2 p.m., at the school.

The camps will focus on various fundamentals including hitting, fielding, pitching, mental approach to the game, and campers will also take part in various games.

Youth football sign-ups Saturday

OC Oilers Youth Football and Cheer program (formerly Huntington Beach Junior All-American Football and Cheer) is accepting online (www.ocoilers.org) registration for its 2014 fall season.

An in-person sign-up session is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Dick's Sporting Goods (7542 Edinger Ave., Huntington Beach). The next in-person sign-up session is June 28.

HBPWF golf tourney

Registration deadline is Saturday for the first Huntington Beach Pop Warner Football Golf Tournament and Helicopter Ball Drop at Tijeras Creek Golf Club (29082 Tijeras Creek) in Rancho Santa Margarita.

The July 14 event supports the league's football, cheer and scholastic achievement.
