Briefs: Marina baseball camp starts Wednesday

Marina High baseball will launch both its Game Camp and Fundamental Training Camp for players of all ages starting Wednesday at the Marina baseball fields.

The Game Camp will run from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and two sessions are available. Session 1 starts Wednesday and Session 2 opens July 8. The cost per session is $180. For both sessions, the cost is $340.

The Fundamental Training Camp will run between noon and 2 p.m. Two sessions are available: Session 1 starts Wednesday and Session 2 starts July 8. The cost per session is $180. For both sessions, the cost is $340.

Oilers football camp offered

The Huntington Beach High Football Camp for youth starts June 24 at the school.

The camp, geared to safely prepare intermediate aged athletes for a successful high school experience, is open to youth grades who will enter grades third through eighth in the fall. Daily camp sessions are from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Thursday through June 27.

Campers will participate in four phases of football: field workouts, weight room, speed and power training (grades 6-8 only), classroom and football instruction (grade 6-8 only), and a character development seminar.

The cost is $150 per camper. Checks should be made payable to Eric Lo (Attn.: Eric Lo, 1905 Main Street, Huntington Beach, CA, 92648).

Barons hoops summer camp registration open

The 22nd annual Roger Holmes Boys and Girls Youth Basketball Camp starts June 24 at Fountain Valley High.

The camp will run between 10 and 11:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday each week through July 19 at the school’s gymnasium. The camp is open to youth grades 3-8.

Fountain Valley summer baseball camp open

The Fountain Valley High baseball program’s summer camp for incoming freshmen and eighth-grade students starts June 25 at the school’s varsity baseball field.

The camp runs between 9 and 11 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday through July 25. No camp will be held July 4.

The cost is $100 per camper and checks should be made payable to Fountain Valley High School Baseball.

Edison softball camp in July

Edison High is offering summer softball camps that will run July 22-26 at the school’s varsity softball field. Camp age groups, dates and costs, are as follows: Grades 3-5 (9 a.m.-noon, includes complimentary T-shirt and ball, $115); Grades 6-8 (noon-3 p.m., includes complimentary T-shirt and ball, $115); Incoming Freshman-Grade 12 (9 a.m.-2 p.m., includes lunch and complimentary T-shirt, $250).

Incoming freshmen and returning prep players are required to have had a physical exam in order to participate in the high school camp.

Lifeletics Baseball announces summer schedule

Lifeletics Baseball, located in Huntington Beach, has announced its 2013 summer camp schedule.

The camps, entering their 12th year, will run from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday starting June 24 through Aug. 16. Camp costs are: Beginning Baseball Week ($99); one week ($199); two weeks ($379). During a special promotion now underway, with the purchase of two weeks, the cost for a third week is $99.

Camp locations are in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach and south Orange County (Santa Margarita and Trabuco Canyon). The Huntington Beach camps will be held at Wardlow Field (Huntington Valley Little League) and Murdy Park (Ocean View Little League).

Campers will work with current professional instructors, former professional players and area high school coaches. Training will involve a wide variety of drills, games and competitions. Instruction is specific, varied and fast-paced to ensure athletes learn to enjoy working hard.
