Splashball at HB High

Huntington Beach Water Polo Club is accepting registration for its 12-week Splashball program.

The program is open to youth ages six to 14 and will be conducted at the Huntington Beach High pool.

The cost is $175 per player and participants will be taught water and ocean safety skills and the fundamentals skills and rules of swimming and water polo.

Youth Volleyball in HB

United States Youth Volleyball League (USYVL) has announced it will accept registration for the 2014 spring season in Huntington Beach through April 1.

The eight-week program will run from April 2 through June 7 at the Huntington Central Sports Complex, The cost for the eight-week season is $150 per child. Discounts are available for families that sign up more than one child.

Charity golf tourney

Registration is now open for the ninth annual Baron Football/Michael Musso “Moose Invitational” Golf Tournament presented by the Fountain Valley High Football Boosters.

This year’s event is June 23 at Mile Square Golf Course (10401 Warner Avenue, Fountain Valley). The tournament will consist of a four-person scramble, longest drive contest, closest-to-the-pin contest, and a putting contest.

The cost is $150 per golfer and includes green fees, cart fees, practice range, door prizes, gift bags, buffet lunch and banquet dinner.

The annual event helps raise money for the Fountain Valley High Baron football program and the Michael Musso Memorial Fund. Musso, a 2004 graduate of Fountain Valley High, lost his life in a car accident July 29, 2005. Through this fundraiser a scholarship is given to a four-year Baron football player each year.

AVP dates set

The Assn. of Volleyball Professionals, the premiere domestic professional beach volleyball tour in the U.S., announced Monday its 2014 schedule.

The seven-tournament tour starts in May and runs through September culminating with the AVP Championships at the north side of the Huntington Beach Pier Sept. 25-28.

Tournament dates: May 29-June 1:St. Pete Open (St. Petersburg, FLA.); July 3-6, Milwaukee Open (Milwaukee, WI.); Aug. 7-10, Salt Lake City Open (Salt Lake City, Utah); Aug. 15-17, Manhattan Beach Open; Aug. 28- 31, Cincinnati Open(Mason, Ohio); Sept. 5-7, DO AC Pro Beach Volleyball Invitational (Atlantic City, N.J.); Sept. 25-28: AVP Championships (Huntington Beach Pier).
