France’s Delpero a winner at H.B. Pier

Antoine Delpero from France won the Stand Up Paddle World Tour’s Huntington Beach Pro on Oct. 3 at the Huntington Beach Pier. Second place went to U.S. Open of Surfing longboard champion Colin McPhilips of San Clemente, who was a wild-card entry. Leco Salazar from Brazil was just 0.4 points behind McPhilips in the standings and finished third. The contest drew more than 60 athletes from 14 countries.

Rampage lacrosse shows support

During October, the Huntington Beach High lacrosse team, Rampage, will wear pink Adrenaline Awareness socks during games in support of the fight against breast cancer.

The club team is coached by Brian Dunn and plays its next game at 3 p.m. Sunday against Newport Harbor at University High in Irvine. The Rampage (1-1-1) is a member of the Earthquake (EQL) Fall Lacrosse League.

NJB hoops player evaluations are Sunday

National Junior Basketball is accepting registration for the Huntington Beach Winter League. Player skill evaluations are Sunday at the Huntington Beach High gym at the following times: 9-10 a.m. (Division 3, grades 3/4); 10-11 a.m. (Division 2, grades 5/6); 11 a.m.-noon (Division 1, grades 7/8); noon-1 p.m. (make-up evaluations). Fountain Valley LL in-person registration is Saturday

Fountain Valley Little League begins accepting online registration Saturday for its 2012 season. Information can be obtained at https://www.FVLL.org. The league’s initial in-person registration is from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the snack bar at Mile Square Park.

Youth water polo registration open

Huntington Beach Water Polo Club is taking registration for its Fall 2011 Water Polo Club Session. Sign ups are open to beginners and advanced players in the following divisions: 10-and-under coed team, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U boys’ teams, and 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U girls’ teams.

Marina baseball golf tourney is Oct. 30

The Marina High baseball program is running the Marina Baseball Golf Tournament on Oct. 30 at Meadowlark Golf Course, 16782 Graham St., Huntington Beach. The big event includes golfing, a raffle and live and silent auctions.

Registration starts at 10:30 a.m. followed by an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. Dinner festivities begin at 5 p.m. The cost is $125 per player (entry fee) and $40 for the dinner/auction and raffle only. Sponsorships ($500, $1,000) also are available.

Edison aquatics sponsors haunted house

The Edison High aquatics program is sponsoring a Haunted House as the “twilight hour approaches” on Oct. 29 and Oct. 31 at 15962 Wicklow Lane in Huntington Beach. The event, hosted by the Brimhall and Schwenk families, is in its sixth year. Last year an estimated 1,500 attended the ghoulish festivities. Admission is free but donations are accepted.
