The Huntington Beach Green Chargers continued with their winning ways Saturday by posting an 18-0 victory against the Fullerton Blue Titans in Pop Warner Football Jr. Pee Wee Division action.

Huntington overcame miscues on its first two possessions of the ballgame to score on its third drive when fullback Chase Ault burst his way past several defenders and into the end zone. On Fullerton’s next possession, Green Chargers cornerback Shaun Colamonico intercepted a pass and returned it 25 yards.

That led to a touchdown pass from Griffin O’Connor to EJ Ginnis. The final score also was the result of an interception, this one by linebacker Caden Snyder, who scored on a 30-yard return.

Huntington Beach 30, Saddleback Valley 6: The Huntington Beach Vikings hit the road Saturday for a game under the lights at Laguna Hills High against the Gold Chargers and came away with an impressive victory.

After the teams traded scores on their first possessions, the Vikings defense dominated and allowed just three first downs and held the Gold Chargers scoreless the remainder of the game. Peter McCoy, Eric Rymer and Matthew Zimmerman led the defensive assault by applying stifling pressure that limited Saddleback Valley to negative yardage after its only score.

Late in the first half, Rymer recorded a sack in the end zone that resulted in a safety. Other standouts on the Viking defense were Chad Olberding, Brandon Villescas and Cameron Prohaska.

The Huntington offense again was led by Brandon Laszlo, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns and passed for 39 yards. Nick Paulson added 52 yards rushing and a touchdown, plus a pair of two-point conversion kicks.

Conrad Myers capped the Vikings’ scoring with a touchdown run. The offensive output was the result of solid blocking along the offensive line led by Matthew Clark, Alex Lipps and Hunter Olsen.

The Vikings travel Saturday to face Cypress.
