AYSO registration is Tuesday

AYSO Region 143 (Huntington Beach) will hold its spring soccer season registration Tuesday. The sign-up session is from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carden Conservatory Auditorium at Meadow View School, (5702 Clark Drive, Huntington Beach. AYSO Region 143 is open to boys and girls ages 4to 18.

Area has 13 squads ranked in CIF

The first CIF Southern Section winter sports rankings of the new year were released Monday and 13 local teams were ranked. Below are this week’s rankings:

Boys’ Basketball: Edison (No. 7, Division 1A); Huntington Beach (No. 10, Division 1A); Ocean View (No. 2, Division 2AA); Brethren Christian (No. 7, Division 5AA).

Girls’ Basketball: Edison (No. 5, Division 1AA); Huntington Beach (No. 4, Division 1A); Ocean View (No. 11, Division 3A); Brethren Christian (tied-No. 9, Division 5AA).

Boys’ Soccer: Marina (No. 10, Division 1).

Girls’ Soccer: Ocean View (No. 4, Division 6)

Girls’ Water Polo: Edison (No. 8, Division 1); Huntington Beach (No. 10, Division 1); Ocean View (No. 8, Division 7).
