Around Town: Easter Egg Hunt at the Sports Complex

The annual Easter Egg Hunt and Family Fun Day will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Sports Complex at Huntington Beach Central Park, 18002 Goldenwest St.

The free event is sponsored by the city of Huntington Beach Community Services Department and the Kiwanis Club of Huntington Beach.

Activities will include game booths, fire department displays, refreshments, Easter Bunny photos, live entertainment and more.

Sunrise Service at the Pier

An Easter Sunrise service will be held from 6:15 to 7:45 a.m. Sunday at Pier Plaza, 325 Pacific Coast Hwy.

The free event is church organized and will include music, prayer and Christian celebration. Hot chocolate and doughnuts will be available for attendees.

Music and Worship at the Bandstand

Calvary Chapel Beachside is holding Easter services at the Central Park Bandstand with the Scott Cunningham Band.

The services will be at 6 and 9 a.m. A Good Friday service will be held at noon Friday at the Central Park Amphitheater. The amphitheater and bandstand are behind the Huntington Beach Central Park Library, 7111 Talbert Ave. For information, call (714) 465-3000 or visit https://www.ccbeachside.com.

Easter Sunrise at the Beach

An Easter sunrise service will be held at Bolsa Chica State Beach by St. Peter’s By the Sea Presbyterian Church.

The service will be at 6 a.m. on Easter at Pacific Coast Highway and Warner Avenue in Huntington Beach.

Pastor Chris Grange will conduct the service. He will be joined by the Praise Band and choir members.

Guests are advised to dress warmly and bring a beach chair. Coffee will be provided.

Following the Sunrise Service guests are invited to a free breakfast at St. Peter’s, 16911 Bolsa Chica St. in Huntington Beach. For information, call (714) 846-6641.

Hunt in Fountain Valley

Fountain Valley will host an Easter egg hunt from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Fountain Valley Recreation Center and Sports Park, 16400 Brookhurst St., Fountain Valley.

The event will include free carnival games, crafts, balloon artists and bounce houses.

A pancake breakfast will be provided by the Fountain Valley Kiwanis Club at 8:30 a.m. Cost is $5.

Preferred parking is available for $5 between fields A and B. Pictures with the Easter Bunny are $2. Egg hunts run continuously until 11 a.m. for children 11 years and younger.

Fundraising

Tyson for schools

Sun View School is asking supporters to buy chicken from Tyson.

The school is taking part in a national fundraising program in which purchasers can buy a Tyson Project A+ product and earn 24 cents for their school by collecting and turning in the labels.

Each school can earn up to $12,000 per academic year.

Sun View would like to get computer upgrades and library books and save money for assemblies and field trips.
