A business attitude survey about uranium mining in Pittsylvania County was presented to the Uranium Working Group on Tuesday in Richmond.

The Uranium Working Group is a group appointed by Governor McDonnell to study the impact of uranium mining in Pittsylvania County.

The survey found that “slightly more than one half” of business leaders surveyed across the state are opposed to lifting the uranium mining ban.

The survey says that business leaders will benefit from “more accessible information” about mining.

The survey found that going forward, there should be a balanced approach between business growth and environmental protection.
