A woman was injured when she was ejected from a vehicle that crashed in Huntington Beach after the driver lost control.

Police responded to the area of Beach Boulevard and Constantine Drive at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Jennifer Marlatt said.

The vehicle was being driven north on Beach at high speed when the driver, a 36-year-old man from Costa Mesa, swerved to avoid another car, officials said.

The vehicle hit a curb, a telephone box and a light pole at Beach and Constantine and flipped several times, Marlatt said.

The passenger, a 40-year-old woman from Costa Mesa, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle, Marlatt said.

The woman was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with moderate injuries, Marlatt said. The man was uninjured. Their names were not released.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, Marlatt said.
