A nonprofit group in the Oak View community of Huntington Beach received a $5,000 grant from the Bank of America Charitable Foundation to assist its efforts to help residents find employment.

The Oak View Renewal Partnership will use the money to fund its Workforce Development Center, which helps people in Oak View find a career path, according to a news release.

"It's an honor to have Bank of America's support," Oak View Renewal Partnership's executive director, Iosefa Alofaituli, said in the release. "It validates the hard work our staff and Oak View residents have been doing to improve the community's financial well-being."

Oak View is a square-mile, predominantly Latino neighborhood bordered by Warner and Slater avenues, Gothard Street and Beach Boulevard.

The Workforce Development Center started in 2013 and has helped 50 residents find work, according to the Oak View Renewal Partnership.
