Huntington Beach police are looking for suspects involved in an alleged stabbing in the downtown area, authorities said.

Officers responded to a call in the area of Third Street Walnut Avenue at 2 a.m. Monday and found a man who had suffered from stab wounds, according to a post on the police department's Facebook page.

Witnesses told police that the victim and his friends had gotten into a fight with three or four other men. A knife was believed to be used during the altercation, Lt. Bo Svendsbo said.

The victim suffered injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening and was brought to a local hospital for treatment, according to the post.

Authorities are looking into various leads and reviewing footage from downtown cameras.
