A Huntington Beach woman was arrested and booked into the city jail Monday on various charges, including suspicion of burglary, fraud and possession of stolen property, according Huntington Beach Police.

Krystal Rae Smith, 26, was also booked on suspicion of possession of narcotics and driving under a suspended license for driving under the influence.

Police were tipped off about Smith after she tried using what appeared to be a counterfeit credit card to check into the Waterfront Hilton around 3:23 p.m. Monday, according to the statement.

It was reported she left the hotel lobby and drove away after staff called to verify the credit card.

Officers caught up to and stopped Smith and investigated her, where it was revealed that she was in possession of numerous stolen checks, credit cards, driver’s licenses and passports, according to police.

Preliminary reports estimate that around 100 victims could be linked to Smith’s arrest. Police said the items “appear to be from vehicle burglaries and mail theft.”

Monday’s incident isn’t Smith’s first run in with police. On Sept. 10 and Nov. 18, 2011, she was charged with two counts each of burglary, acquiring access cards used to enter buildings using different names, and the unauthorized use of identifying information. The charges were dismissed in May 2012, according to Orange County Superior Court records.
