High school artwork going on display

The Huntington Beach Union High School District art show will take place from 8 to 5 p.m. Friday through April 7 at the District Office, 5832 Bolsa Ave., Huntington Beach. A reception will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday.

Hundreds of drawings, paintings, sculptures and digital works created by the students from Huntington Beach, Marina, Edison, Fountain Valley, Westminster and Valley Vista high schools will be displayed.

After April 7, the show will move to the Huntington Beach Art Center for two weeks and then be part of the April 17 Art Walk, which takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Main Street between Pacific Coast Highway and Orange Avenue and The Strand on Fifth Street between PCH and Orange Avenue downtown.

Hawes Spring Fling tickets on sale

The Hawes Elementary School PTA will host its annual Spring Fling, “We are Totally Awesome Hawes,” from 6 p.m. to midnight April 26 at the Waterfront Hilton, 21100 Pacific Coast Hwy.

The adult fundraising gala includes dining, dancing and silent auctions. Tickets can be purchased for $60 at https://www.hawespta.com through March 26, when they increase to $75.

They’re seeking your blood

The Ocean View School District will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 11 a.m . to 5:15 p.m. March 26 in the district board room, 17200 Pinehurst Lane, Huntington Beach.
