Three arrested in Fountain Valley robbery

Fountain Valley police have linked a Cypress man arrested last month on suspicion of burglary to multiple robberies in Orange County.

Brandon Bibbs, 19, was taken into custody Jan. 18 after allegedly being involved in a robbery of a liquor store on the 18000 block of Magnolia Street in Fountain Valley that night, according to a news release. Also arrested were Shakial Boulton, 20, of Cypress, and Jordan Morua, 21, of La Palma.

Authorities later linked Bibbs to previous armed robberies in Huntington Beach and Anaheim and two other robberies at the same Fountain Valley liquor store, the release said.

The Orange County district attorney’s office has filed five counts of robbery and one count of conspiracy against Bibbs. He is being held in the Central Jail Complex on $250,000 bail.

One count each of robbery and conspiracy have been filed against Boulton and Morua, the statement said. Both were released after posting a $50,000 bail.

Fountain Valley police responded to an armed robbery call around 8:56 p.m. Jan. 18, when a man reportedly brandished a firearm and stole money from a cash register of a liquor store.

The clerk gave authorities a description of the man and the vehicle he fled in and the information was sent to local agencies.

Shortly after, a Huntington Beach police officer stopped and searched the vehicle. and . Authorities found the cash allegedly stolen from the liquor store and an airsoft gun with its orange tip spray painted black, the release said. Fountain Valley police subsequently arrested the three suspects.
