A man was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence after crashing into a parked car in Huntington Beach, according to a statement from police.

The 56-year-old man was reportedly driving his silver 2012 Nissan Cube hatchback westbound on Ellis Avenue near Demion Lane when he crashed into a gray 2006 Ford F250 pickup truck that was legally parked against the curb around 8:15 p.m., according to police.

The Nissan’s driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, was trapped inside the car. The Huntington Beach Fire Department had to use rescue equipment to cut the driver out of the hatchback, according to authorities.
