Author of ‘Lessons from Little Rock’ visiting

Terrence Roberts, author of “Lessons from Little Rock,” will be speaking and autographing his book at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Huntington Beach High School gym, 1905 Main St. This free event is sponsored by HB Reads and is open to the public.

The book is the group’s choice for Huntington Beach residents to read together in 2014.

Roberts is one of nine students who fought for the right to attend Little Rock High School in 1957. Books will be for sale and autographing.

HB Reads is hosting a small fundraiser from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Huntington Beach Art Center, 538 Main St. The group is asking for a $50 donation to attend the small gathering. For tickets or more information, visit www.hbreads.org.
