A Huntington Beach woman pleaded not guilty Friday to trying to rob a man who backed out of a deal to pay her money for sex.

Megan Miko Wachi, 22, and her boyfriend Michael Alexander Diaz, 21, of Fountain Valley, were charged with felony conspiracy to commit a robbery and attempted robbery, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.

Diaz has not been arraigned and no court date has been set, according to public records. He has a warrant out for his arrest until he is released from the hospital, according to the district attorney’s office.

Wachi allegedly set up a plan Dec. 8 over text message with a male acquaintance to trade him money for sexual acts.

Wachi and Diaz went to the man’s business in Cypress intending to rob him if he decided to back out of the deal, officials said.

When the duo got to the business, the man did decide against the plan, so Diaz allegedly pulled out a BB gun and pointed it at the man.

The man pulled out a gun and shot Diaz once in the abdomen, officials said.

The two fled the scene in a white pickup, but were pulled over by the Cypress police.

Wachi is being held on $50,000 bail and was expected to head back to court for a pretrial hearing Wednesday.
