An Alaskan sex offender is being held in custody for $1-million bail after pleading not guilty to assaulting two women in Huntington Beach and pushing a pregnant woman into the street.

Las Vegas resident Kenneth Anthony Huskey, 25, pleaded not guilty Aug. 24 to two counts each of felony sexual battery by restraint and false imprisonment and misdemeanor battery, according to public records.

Huskey, who listed his occupation as a rapper, is being held at the Central Jail Complex in Santa Ana, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s records. He faces a maximum sentence of 12 year and eight months in prison if convicted on all charges, said Farrah Emami, spokeswoman for the Orange County district attorney.

He had to register as a sex offender in Alaska after a 2003 strike conviction for sexual abuse of a minor.

Huskey is accused of making sexually threatening comments to a female clerk in a jewelry shop in the 300 block of Main Street, officials said.

Huskey and the clerk were the only two in the store at 3 p.m. Aug. 19 when he allegedly began telling the woman he had sexually assaulted a woman before and spent time in prison, according to the district attorney’s office.

The clerk tried to walk away from Huskey, but he allegedly followed her. He is accused of pushing her up against a cash register and grabbing her hips and butt, kissing her cheek and lips and making sexual comments, while trying to get her phone number, according to the district attorney’s office.

The woman got away from him, but he grabbed her cell phone to call his own phone to get her number, officials said.

Huskey left the shop when a second man entered and the woman called the police.

The same day, two women reported a man fitting the description of Huskey approached them while downtown, according to the Police Department.

Huskey is accused of approaching two women walking along Main Street at 4 p.m. and pushing one of them, who was eight months pregnant, into the street. He then allegedly blocked the other woman’s way with his arms.

He allegedly cornered the woman against a fence, demanding the woman give him her phone number and take off her sunglasses so he could see her eyes, officials said. He then allegedly tried to grab her crotch, but got her thigh when she moved to get away.

Officers had seen a man fitting his description earlier in the day driving a light blue Lincoln Town Car with Alaskan license plates and the next day officers spotted the same car near Beach Boulevard and Slater Avenue, according to the Police Department.

Officers stopped the vehicle for having dark tinted windows and ended up arresting Huskey on suspicion of robbery, false imprisonment, sexual battery, battery on a person and driving without a license, officials said.

At the time of his arrest, he allegedly had the jewelry store clerk’s phone number in his cell phone, officials said.
