A Fountain Valley man was one of 15 indicted by a grand jury Wednesday in an alleged drug trafficking ring, officials said today.

Duy Nguyen, 22, is being held in custody and is expected to be arraigned Monday along with 14 others on drug trafficking charges in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. The charge holds a maximum of 20 years in federal prison.

Nguyen was allegedly involved in the large-scale, San Gabriel Valley-based distribution of Ecstasy, according to the Department of Justice.

The drug ring was allegedly headed by Monterey Park resident Jimmy Luong, 29, who maintained “stash houses” in the City of Industry and Arcadia. Police raids of the houses uncovered more than 1 million Ecstasy tablets valued at about $17 million, officials said.

Officials also found 33 kilograms of cocaine, 21 firearms and more than $500,000 in cash.
