Pair pleads not guilty to selling cocaine in HB restaurant

A waitress and a man who allegedly assisted her with selling cocaine at a popular downtown bar and restaurant pleaded not guilty Tuesday to the sale and transportation of a controlled substance.

Police arrested Brynn Ashley Boucher, 24, and Victor Mac Davis, 29, in May following a six-month investigation at Killarney Pub & Grill, where Boucher worked.

Boucher allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover officer on three different occasions. Davis allegedly assisted her with access to the drugs.

Each is charged with three felony counts for allegedly selling and transporting a controlled substance.

Their pre-trial is scheduled for Aug. 9 at the West Justice Center in Westminster. Both are out on bail.

The investigation began earlier this year as a joint effort between police and the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) because of complaints about the number of arrests and alcohol-related problems coming from the restaurant. ABC and the police were also investigating other restaurants and bars for the same problem.

Council members acknowledge that there is a problem downtown, which has made Huntington Beach the city of its size with the highest DUIs in California.

In May, Mayor Joe Carchio sent a letter to downtown businesses that serve alcohol and offer entertainment urging them to work with the city to alleviate the problem. Referring to his letter as a first step, Carchio asked the businesses to slightly change their policies on serving alcohol before closing and work with the city to find ways to solve the problem.

The restaurant’s management and owner declined comment about whether they were aware of the alleged drug sales.
