Man rearrested in child pornography case

Police rearrested a Huntington Beach man last week and transferred him to federal custody on suspicion of distributing child pornography after the case was accepted by the U.S. attorney’s office.

He was taken into custody in Fountain Valley and booked into Huntington’s jail before being transferred.

David Brian White, 53, was first arrested Nov. 2 after police found evidence of child pornography in his home, Lt. Russell Reinhart said. White allegedly used computer software to upload child pornography and make it available to others.

White posted bail, and a court hearing was scheduled, Reinhart said.

Federal charges were brought against White after a federal grand jury reviewed the case and accepted it, he said.

“The type of crime he was committing, the amount of distribution of child pornography and the fact that it was done on the Internet made it a good federal case,” Reinhart said.
