A Huntington Beach man was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of killing his wife 30 years ago.

Torrance police officers arrested Michael Clark, 57, at his townhouse about 8:30 a.m. Clark is suspected of killing his wife, Carol Jeanne Lubahn, 28, who disappeared March 31, 1981.

Lubahn, who appears on the Charley Project, the National Missing Persons Data System and other websites devoted to missing people, was last seen in Torrance. Her body has never been found and her credit cards and Social Security number never used, Sgt. Jeremiah Hart said.

Clark was booked at the Torrance city jail the day after prosecutors charged him with murder. Hart said Clark did not resist arrest.

Clark, he said, divorced his wife in absentia three years after her disappearance and changed his name from Michael Clark Lubahn. He and his wife had been married for 10 years and had two children, Hart said.
