81-year-old man dies in Huntington Beach crash
An 81-year-old man died in a one-car crash Saturday morning in Huntington Beach, police announced Tuesday.
Huntington Beach police and Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley firefighters responded about 11:53 a.m. Saturday to the accident on Patterson Lane north of Ellis Avenue.
A gray 2001 Suzuki Esteem had been traveling north on Patterson when it left the roadway and hit some bushes, according to a police department release.
The driver apparently suffered a medical issue that may have caused the crash, police said. He was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center and died soon after. Police are not identifying the driver yet pending notification of his family.
