Sowers hosts annual book fair

Sowers Middle School is holding its annual book fair from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Also, there will be a Book Fair Open House Food Truck Frenzy event from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday during which there will be student performances from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. and classrooms will be open from 6 to 7 p.m. The book fair and food trucks will be open the whole time.

There will be hotdogs from Dogzilla, healthy sliders from the Flip Truck, Asian-infused tacos from Dos Chinos and artisan-inspired pizza from Fred’s Best Pizza. Also there will be a design-it-yourself ice cream bar from Longboards Ice Cream.

All sales will benefit Sowers Middle School.

Area concert at Edison High

Edison High School will hold its annual Area Concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Edison High gymnasium, 21400 Magnolia St., Huntington Beach.

The event will include Sowers Middle School; Peterson, Eader, Hawes and Moffett elementary schools as well as the Edison High band.

The show will last about one hour, cost is $2 per person.

Celebration of the middle school arts

The Ocean View School District will hold its annual Middle School Art Festival, which will recognize the accomplishments of middle school dance, performing arts, theater, visual arts and music.

The Marine View, Mesa View, Spring View and Vista View bands will perform along with choirs from Vista View, Spring View and Marine View. Mesa View performing arts and Vista View theater will present selections from their next productions. There will also be a performance by the award-winning Marine View Middle School Jazz Ensemble.

The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. March 7 at the Marine View Middle School Auditorium, 5682 Tilburg Drive, Huntington Beach.
