Leather gifts for men and women

The new collection at Tiffany & Co. at South Coast Plaza could influence your holiday shopping list! Tiffany just debuted the Tiffany Leather Collection for men and women, created by Richard Lambertson and John Truex, whose names are synonymous with the finest in leather accessories.

For women, the designers created the bag of the day — the Manhattan Satchel — a generous-size bag that holds everything while maintaining its elegant shape in glazed crocodile or snakeskin, natural grain calf or a giraffe print in haircalf. The designers also created the TRT (Tiffany Reversible Tote) in must-have rich colors and supple reversible suede and metallic leather. Other bags from the collection include the Laurelton top-handle bag, shoulder bags and hobos, day and glamorous evening clutches; and accessories: wallets, organizers, card cases and colorful Nappa leather gloves. The Tiffany Leather Collection for women ranges from a small Tiffany Reversible Tote for $395 to a Tiffany Laurelton handbag in glazed crocodile for $16,500.

For men, there are essentials for every need from business to sport to time away. There’s a Tiffany Charles brief in onyx or espresso box calf; a Blake grain leather tote for the office or casual weekend use; a lightweight Newport satchel in fabric and leather designed with pockets and zippers in all the right places; leather and alligator billfolds and card cases; and even Nappa leather gloves with cashmere lining and contrast stitching. For men, prices range from $95 for a card case to $1,395 for a crocodile travel wallet.

The store is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Level 1, near Nordstrom at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. For more information, call (714) 540-5330 or visit https://www.tiffany.com.

Fleabag Beds for furry friends

We don’t have any furry friends, but if we did, we would want a chic washable dog or cat bed from Laguna Beach-based Fleabag Beds. Each one is made from a variety of graphic designer fabrics: Windsor Smith, Missoni, Kelly Wearstler, Amy Butler and Trina Turk fabrics.

Designers and co-founders Sabina Vavra and Chelsea Hernandez are filling a void in the market for dog beds that are fabulous enough to want on any floor. They come in bold and bright turquoises, tangerines and saffrons, and they’re washable and reversible.

Fleabag Beds come in three round and two rectangle sizes. They’re easy to wash, as a zipper runs three quarters around the beds. Prices range from $68, $88 and $108. And even better, the beds are eco-conscious, all locally made with special attention to selection of organic cotton and bamboos. The beds are available online at the swanky new Pop Up Store in Corona del Mar through Dec. 31 at 2747 E. Coast Hwy., next to Bruegger’s. For more information, call (949) 212-5453 or visit https://www.fleabagbed.com.

Patina closing its doors

Sadly, one of our favorite indie boutiques, Patina in Costa Mesa, is closing after eight years of giving us an incredible selection of carefully — and stylishly — edited clothes and accessories. Owner Jenny Johnson is so grateful for her loyal customers and fashionistas who have made Patina thrive in its funky Eastside Costa Mesa location.

She will be celebrating its closing with markdowns from clothes, vintage items and accessories to all of the furniture and display pieces — everything will need to find a new loving owner. Each week, select items will be marked down lower, and additional items will be put on sale. Until the doors officially close, new merchandise will be arriving.

“And, of course, please come in to exchange hugs, laughs, memories and fashion,” says Johnson. “This is a time to celebrate our customers and all the fun we’ve shared at Patina Boutique.”

Patina is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 178 Wells Place in Costa Mesa. For more information, call (949) 548-1930.
