Enjoy January in July

January Labs based in Laguna Beach is a new luxury skin-care line, founded by January Olds, who has worked more than a decade in the skin-care industry including eight years with Epicuren Discovery, leading education and product development.

With January Labs, her own baby, she’s developed a line that is effective, gentle (no sulfates, parabens or fragrances that can be irritating) and yet easy to use.

Her mantra is that skin care should be simple, and too many products can be confusing and aren’t necessarily better.

She’s recently landed two exciting accounts with renowned esthetician Dangene at the Core Club in New York, and Glow and Go will also be featured as a “hero” product at the new Fred Segal/NewBeauty store in Santa Monica. Glow and Go is a professional-grade, at-home, anti-aging system for all skin types.

January Labs is now available at a dozen boutiques from L.A. to New York.

I recently tested out her line of skin care, including the Skin Essentials collection of four products, which includes a pure and gentle cleanser (designed to lighten and brighten the skin with willow bark and anti-oxidants), moisture balancing lotion (a light moisturizer with organic oils), a restorative tonic mist and Glow and Go exfoliant, a fave product for its “wow.” It felt like I’d just had a sensational facial.

Her products also come in small travel sizes, perfect for on-the-go men and women. January Labs will make your skin feel and look restorative and hydrated. It’s available online at https://www.januarylabs.com. January Labs is at 668 N. Coast Hwy., Suite 1193 in Laguna Beach. For more information, call (949) 207-3404.

Benefit divorcées, charity

Where can you find the best in designer consignment items such as Pucci, Chanel, Stella McCartney, Luella, Chloe, Tory Burch and Louis Vuitton? Make it over to the Divorcée Sale this Friday through Sunday at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach, a charity shopping event featuring coveted resale designer apparel, handbags and fine jewelry, diamonds and pearls at a fraction of their original price.

The concept is a cathartic experience for divorced women to start fresh, shed memories from their former life and help a much-needed cause — 25% of the proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (https://www.bcrfcure) and Meredith Israel, (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/meredithisrael) an inspiring advocate for breast cancer survivors.

Founder Jill Alexander isn’t divorced; however, she understands fashion (she’s a former Tory Burch manager) and created the Divorcée Sale, a traveling shopping event most recently at the Mondrian Hotel in Los Angeles, as a way to benefit divorcées, charities and shoppers. The sale is held in the Pacific Ballroom and valet is complimentary.

The pre-sale starts Friday from 6 to 9 p.m.; tickets cost $25, and each guest will receive champagne and a special gift bag. On Saturday, the sale runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; tickets cost $15, and the first 50 purchases will receive a special gift bag. On Sunday, the sale lasts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; it’s open to the public, and the first 25 purchases will receive a special gift bag.

The Resort at Pelican Hill is at 2701 Pelican Hill Road South in Newport Coast. Purchase tickets at thedivorceesale.com/buy-tickets.

Followers of fashion

Budding fashionistas can take part in a summer camp that caters to kids as young as eight up to college-age students who are interested in following their fashion dreams.

Fashion Camp OC is currently offered at the OC Mart Mix in Costa Mesa, giving young fashionistas the knowledge and tools needed to tap into their creativity, learn about design and style and take part in a “Project Runway”-type competition.

It’s also designed to promote self-confidence and hone fashion skills, including merchandising, special events, fashion shows and visual displays.

The camp series was founded by Erin Bianchi, a fashion industry veteran, who is also a part-time fashion instructor at Orange Coast College.

The camps are designed for juniors (ages 8 to 12); teens (ages 13 to 17); and college students (18-plus). Fashion Camp costs $250, plus a $50 material fee.

There are several weeks of camps available through the week of Aug. 8, which is the advanced week. It’s designed for students who may want to take a second week of camp, so all activities are unique from previous weeks.
