Seven accused of insurance fraud

Charges were filed Tuesday against a 71-year-old Huntington Beach man and six others in connection with insurance fraud, officials said.

Hung Huu Nguyen has a warrant out for his arrest for allegedly practicing law without a license for a firm accused of involvement in an insurance overbilling scheme, according to the Orange County district attorney’s office.

He faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail.

Ai Duy Nguyen, 69, of Westminster; Khiet Nguyen, 59, of Irvine; Danush Haghani, 37, of Villa Park; Melissa Inez Flores, 40, of Corona; Peyman Laghaee, 45, of Mission Viego; and Victoria Diem Duong, 35, of Anaheim, were also charged for their alleged involvement in the scheme.
