Fifth man arrested in online sting

A Fountain Valley man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of driving to Huntington Beach to have sex with a fictitious 13-year-old girl he met online, officials said.

Alvin Huynh, 23, is the fifth man in as many months to be caught in an online sting by Huntington Beach police, said Lt. Russell Reinhart.

Huynh was arrested on suspicion of attempted lewd conduct with a child, communicating with a minor and arranging a meeting place with a minor for lewd conduct.

Huynh began talking to detectives who were posing as a 13-year-old girl and made plans to meet with her despite being told repeatedly she was underage.

Officials declined to release specific information on the ongoing investigation.

Detectives have special training to take part in this kind of police activity and do similar stings to catch prostitutes on Craigslist.
