The Huntington Beach City School District has made its acting superintendent official.

Interim Supt. Kathy Kessler was made the head of the district at its May 18 board meeting for another two years.

“I’m very proud to continue working with the people in the Huntington Beach City School District community,” she said.

Kessler has been filling in the position since former Supt. Roberta DeLuca retired in July 1. She had a one-year contract that was extended for another two years.
