Buckwheat was a stray, judged to be about 4 years old.
A mixed breed, probably with some Chihuahua and dachshund in his background, he can melt you with his eyes. Always up for a walk or a cuddle, he enjoys attention and gets along well with other dogs.
When Buckwheat arrived at the shelter last month, he was suffering from a skin condition possibly caused by a thyroid imbalance. Now that he is on regular — and inexpensive — medication, his skin and coat have improved dramatically. He even has more spring in his step as a result.
He is otherwise healthy, neutered and evidently house-trained. "Bucky" would love to be adopted. His adoption fees are discounted 25% all week when you mention this announcement. For more information, call (714) 536-8480 or visit http://www.ochumanesociety.com. Shelter adoption special through May 31: any cat 7 years or older for $65.
