Women’s Chorus plans weekend concerts

Share

Music lovers can hear America singing — and America, in this case, includes them — as the Orange County Women’s Chorus mounts a pair of shows this weekend.

Saturday at St. Wilfrid of York Episcopal Church, 18631 Chapel Lane, Huntington Beach, baritone Carver Cossey will join the choir for “I Hear America Singing,” a program that spans the years from post-Revolutionary War tunes to folk, George Gershwin and gospel. The show begins at 7 p.m.

Sunday at 3 p.m., the program will repeat at Newport Harbor Lutheran Church, 798 Dover Drive, Newport Beach. Admission to both shows is $25 for adults, $20 for seniors (65 and older) and $10 for students with identification.

At both shows, audience members will be invited to sing along, and an ice cream social with the performers will follow.
