Fleming’s summer prix fixe dinner ending soon

It’s the last call at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in Newport Beach for its Summer Lovin’ Steak and Sangria Prix Fixe dinner.

The final day is Aug. 26. The menu includes a summer salad of beefsteak tomato and mozzarella salad with arugula and red onion balsamic vinaigrette, prime New York strip topped with crispy gorgonzola and served with grilled asparagus, pickled fennel and baby golden beets; lemon-poppy seed butter cookies with vanilla ice cream and a warm apple-ginger sauce. Cost is $39.95.

Barbecue week kicking off at Andrei’s

Andrei’s Conscious Cuisine and Cocktails in Irvine kicks off its first annual barbecue week Monday to Saturday . Chef Yves Fournier will create special barbecue dishes including beef brisket with pomegranate glaze and horseradish cream, spicy bacon potato salad, chipotle Caesar salad, red chili and honey salmon, peanut and green apple coleslaw and chocolate-chili bread pudding.

New Five Crowns chef offering Chef’s Supper

Now that Executive Chef Greg Harrison joined Five Crowns in Corona del Mar, he will be unveiling a new Chef’s Supper on Fridays at 6:30 or 7 p.m. starting this week.

You can gather up a group of 8 to 10 friends for this one-of-a-kind dining experience paired with wine, beer and cocktails.

At the Chef’s Supper, Harrison will demonstrate his culinary skills, which he learned in top kitchens such as Morimoto Napa, Michael Mina’s Aqua at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, and at NobHill Tavern and Seablue, both at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Also, at the Five Crowns is Sous Chef Steven Kling, who has worked with the culinary greats such as Mark Peel, Katsuo Nagasawa and Thomas Keller. Reservations are required; dinner is priced at $100 per person (plus tax and tip).
