National Prayer Day

The Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council hosts a National Day of Prayer Celebration at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, 20444 Magnolia St., Huntington Beach. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is held at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Stuffed Burrito-Eating Contest Fundraiser, in which representatives from Edison and Huntington Beach high schools try to out-eat one another, at noon. Cystic Fibrosis Walk

The Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis Walk, which raises money to fight the disease, begins at the Huntington Beach Pier at Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. Sunset Beach Art Festival

Las Damas and the Sunset Beach Community Assn. host the 45th annual Sunset Beach Art Festival at the neighborhood Community Center, located by the fire station at 12th Street and North Pacific Avenue. More than 150 artisans exhibit and sell jewelry, glass, paintings, photography, ceramics, sculpture, clothing and more.
