National Prayer Day
The Greater Huntington Beach Interfaith Council hosts a National Day of Prayer Celebration at Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church, 20444 Magnolia St., Huntington Beach. The event is from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and includes prayers, speeches, songs and an awards presentation; Ruth Treeson, a Holocaust survivor and author, is the featured guest speaker. Student Art Show

Stuffed, a build-your-own-burrito restaurant, celebrates its grand opening at 300 Pacific Coast Hwy., Huntington Beach. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is held at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Stuffed Burrito-Eating Contest Fundraiser, in which representatives from Edison and Huntington Beach high schools try to out-eat one another, at noon. The Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis Walk, which raises money to fight the disease, begins at the Huntington Beach Pier at Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., with the three-mile walk beginning at 10 a.m. The event also includes food, vendor booths and a performance by the band Emily's Army.
