Cubby (HB Independent / February 4, 2013)

A calm and gentle Alaskan Eskimo mix, Cubby is approximately seven years young. While you first notice his beautiful coat, this dog's sweet demeanor also draws your attention.

Found recently as a stray, Cubby needed treatment for a "hot spot" on his back; now his fur is growing back nicely and he is otherwise healthy; he has been neutered. Cubby walks politely on leash and appears to interact well with other dogs who are not too boisterous. He would fit perfectly into a quiet household with his affectionate, yet not overly needy, personality.

Cubby's adoption fees are discounted 25% all week when you mention this announcement at the Orange County Humane Society, 21632 Newland St., Huntington Beach. For more information, call (714) 536–8480 or visit

Cubby's fur coat keeps him warm on these cold nights, but less well-endowed shelter dogs would appreciate your donation of washable fleece blankets and towels.
