Greer’s OC: Shop aimed at moms, daughters

Share

We’ve discovered a hidden Newport Beach gem, Naomy & Adrian, a fashion haven for handmade knits and hand-selected apparel, beautiful scarves, handbags and jewelry that you’d normally find in New York or a French boutique.

Owner Naomy Kim, a longtime knitwear designer, just opened Naomy & Adrian (her daughter’s name). The shop carries select designers that complement her beautiful sweaters and our favorite mobius wrap, an infinity wrap that’s currently available in brown and charcoal.

The boutique is a great place for mothers and daughters to shop and find coveted pieces. Right now, don’t miss the current sale — 50% off select clothing and 20% off select accessories. Choose from designers such as Ted Baker London, Tolani, Cotélac, With & Wessel, Serpui Marie, Fresh Laundry, A’nue Ligne, Maggie Ward and Eternal Sunshine Creations

On the wedding planner’s list

After coordinating many weddings where wind caused the bride’s veils to blow and wreak havoc during the ceremony and photos, San Clemente-based wedding planner Jill Watson of the Pampered Bride decided that she needed a solution to keep veils under control.

So she designed magnetic jewelry pieces, aptly named Save the Veil, that can easily be attached to a bride’s veil and serve as a weight.

The veil weights are made of genuine mother of pearl and Swarovski crystals with two small hidden magnets. They’re ideal for brides getting married outside where wind can be an issue.

Save the Veil pieces can be a problem solver for wedding planners, and not a bad idea for wedding photographers and videographers to have on hand.

After the wedding, Save the Veil can be repurposed as magnets to hang wedding photos. The cost for a package of six veil weights is $65; three to six weighs can control most veils.

Choose from four styles: oval with Swarovski Crystal, oval with mother of pearl, round with Swarovski crystal and round with mother of pearl.

Save the Veil is available online at https://www.savetheveil.com or by calling (800) 808-1333. It is also available at Blush Bridal Couture, 13011 Newport Ave., Suite 111, Tustin;

B Bride, 3321 G-2 Hyland Ave., in Costa Mesa; and at

The Dresser, 112-A West Commonwealth Ave., Fullerton.
