Top 10 excuses for being late for work
Getting out of a warm bed becomes an uncomfortable task as the increasingly harsh, bitter cold can make it difficult to rouse the senses and head off in the direction of that ever-so-loathsome place known as work. If you're going to be late, it's up to you on whether or not to give an excuse, whether legitimate or not. The unaccredited career advisers at the Daily Top 10 have listed the excuses you may want to use (or avoid because your boss has most likely heard all of them before). Car trouble
This excuse probably has the most variations. Fluid leaks, flat tires and a dead battery commonly come to mind. Your boss may ask how you solved the problem or request evidence of repairs. See No. 10 for another variation.
